Fish for Teeth is a 100% volunteer non-profit organization (501-c-3) located in Friday Harbor, WA. Our mission is to provide needed dental care those who would otherwise not receive it.

 

The tooth-fixing happens at our Community Dental Clinic, which Fish for Teeth sponsors four times a year in Friday Harbor. The work is done by local volunteer dental professionals in a space Fish for Teeth leases for this purpose.

 

Fish for Teeth raises its own funds by holding Fish Taco Fundraisers, and donations earned by our penny smashing machine. These efforts fall short of our total budget, but the difference is made up by direct donations from caring members of our community, or visitors who appreciate the work we do to address this vital need.

 

San Juan County residents face challenges living on an island: limited access to health care (if affordable care cannot be found on the island, you have to miss a day of work to get your teeth fixed on the mainland); super-expensive groceries and housing (and everything else)… If Fish for Teeth was not here much of our working class would be working with a toothache.

 

It is easy to donate through Paypal, Venmo, or drop cash or check into the mailbox on the side of our penny smashing machine, located in front of Friday Harbor Drug in the heart of our lovely town.

 

The mailbox on the penny smasher also serves as a Kings Market receipt depository. 1% of collected receipt value is kicked back to Fish for Teeth, and adds to the collective whole that keeps our tooth-fixing machine in motion on San Juan Island.
